A teacher wants to learn faster so that he can teach well to his students but he is highly dependent on his auditory reassurance (hearing the words that you are reading inside your head).
what do you think? Can he increase his reading speed to improve his learning abilities.
The answer of course is no because every time he would read he would say the words silently in his head and the average speed of talking to ourselves is 200-300 words per minute and you know, he would back-skip and re-read the material when he is not getting the point made. All this would make his average reading speed:100 or 150 wpm (Words per Minute).
So here are most common reading problems (post in comments about your problem and we would tell you the solution/ (read Solutions of Reading Problems).
Vision(Visual Wandering, not able to see clearly the words written on the paper while speed reading.)
fatigue
Speed (reading slowly, may be just 4-5 lines a minute)
Recall (not able to remember what you read)
Laziness (not feeling motivated enough to study the text material)
impatience (very dangerous.highly counter-productive)
Comprehension (by increasing speed,comprehension increases)
Boredom (not liking the subject matter at all.)
Vocabulary (not able to recognize the meaning of a word)
time (doing no time management. not studying in sessions )
interest
Sub-Vocalisation (Auditory Reassurance): Hearing the words in one's mind that are being read from the text laid on the paper.
amount (not deciding how much to study in how many minutes)
analysis
surroundings (trying to study in the crowded environment. Only revisions are advised to be done outside your home. The fresh or difficult material should never )
criticism
noting (when you feel that your notes are taking too much time).
motivation (very important.)
selection (selecting what to read based on already defined purpose)
rejection (selecting what not to read based on already defined purpose)
retention (not able to memorize facts for long time)
appreciation-(not able to feel that feeling that comes when you master some skill from a book)
age (with growing older, thinking that you are good for nothing now)
organization (not having any organization technique for books that you would be reading or are reading now)
concentration-(not able to sit quietly and peacefully at a place to study)
fear-(fear comes from not studying your subject matter daily and then it appears the stuff is ‘Piled-up’)
regression (feeling to read the paragraph again and again with a picture in your mind that’ you didn’t understand anything’..it is just a habit and it has no relation with the comprehension of the subject matter)
back-skipping (reading and re-reading again and again until you feel exhausted about the subject and you are not making any sense out of it. Most common problem. it is just a habit)
